Frank Bogaert

Obituary of Frank J. Bogaert

Frank J. Bogaert, 85, of Nokomis, FL and formerly of Staten Island, NY passed away March 30, 2022. He was born May 23, 1936 in Staten Island, NY. In his career, Frank was a Tool & Die Maker and Plant Engineer at S.S. White, first on Staten Island, then in Piscataway, NJ, retiring in 1987. Upon retirement, Frank relocated, first to Venice, FL,  then Nokomis, FL.

Frank married his high school sweetheart, Carol Martin in 1957, and soon after, moved into the home Frank built in Prince’s Bay, Staten Island. Frank was a jack-of-all-trades, customizing cars, building and renovating homes, and all around “Mister Fix-it.” He loved boating, fishing, golfing, water skiing, and playing cards. His heart was always at his summer home on Murray Isle, in the Thousand Islands, NY. He spent every summer of his 85 years there, building additions, doing renovations, and enjoying time and making memories with family and friends, “simply messing about in boats.”

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carol; his two sons, David (Beta) of Plains, PA, and Paul (Debra) of Long Valley, NJ; his five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Aaron) Seebeck, Sara Bogaert, Lauren (William) Prout, Kevin Bogaert, and Julie Bogaert; and his great grandson Harry Prout.

The family will be holding a memorial service on Murray Isle, NY at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Murray Isle Association, c/o Vince Barton, Treasurer, 329 Maple Lane, Valatie, NY 12184 or any worthwhile charity of one’s choice.
