Obituary of Sally Sherman Brantley

Sally Sherman Brantley, age 59, passed away on May 11, 2023, in Englewood, FL. She was born on October 8, 1963, in Paintsville, KY, loving daughter of Geneva (Fraley) Sherman and the late Buford Sherman. Sally graduated from Morgan County High School in 1981. She then received her bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University in 1985 where she discovered her love for helping people reach their potential. This led to earning her master’s degree in counseling from the University of Kentucky in 1989. During her time in Kentucky, she found a love for the arts; she loved sewing and practicing interior design through decor and her paintings that filled the walls in her home. Dance was a large passion throughout her life. She took on cheerleading at a young age which turned into a bright career as a Zumba instructor. In 2005, Sally married her husband Byron Brantley in Ohio and the two relocated to Florida in 2021 where her love of ballroom dance sparked various lessons and sporadic movie-like moments in their loving relationship. The passion for dance was passed down to her daughter Olivia, who also had classical ballet training, of which her mom enjoyed many performances. Sally enjoyed many hobbies. She was a fan of UK basketball and the Kentucky Derby. She also loved miniature dachshunds and had two puppies named Abby and Sophie. She will be remembered as a loving wife, fantastic mother, and dear friend. She is survived by her husband Byron Brantley, children Olivia and Cameron Sawchuk, mother Geneva Fraley Sherman, brother Keith Sherman, and many friends and family. A service will be held in West Liberty, Kentucky at a later date.
